BlueSky's federation sandbox

BlueSky is launching a federation developer sandbox. What does that mean?

While ATProtocol is meant to be a foundation for fully decentralized networks, in practice there is only one node and one application right now, both run, maintained, and managed by the BlueSky team.

This sandbox allows developers interested in growing the network to start running their own servers, which will be a good way to test the infrastructure while keeping the new instances and content entirely separate from the current application.

It’s a good first step towards creating a decentralized network, while the team builds the tools that will certainly be needed to help node operators manage and moderate their own instances or services.
