Elegance as a razor

After going through a lot of startups at NEXT, I realized the hardest thing about the job was separating the ideas that are unlikely to work from the ideas that I just don’t get.

I found a clean solution, though: aesthetics.

If it’s an elegant system, it has a better chance of working. I could see AirBnB was elegant before I knew if I would use it to stay at some rando’s house. I could see Bitcoin as an elegant solution to the double-spend problem in spite of all my objections to what people said it would become.

Elegance is key.
